Fondation Giannada
In 1976, in loving memory of his brother Pierre, the amazing patron of the arts Léonard Giannada decided to open a cultural centre. Two years later in 1978, the centre, built upon the ruins of an ancient Gallo-Roman temple, was opened. The "Fondation Giannada" houses private artwork in Martigny. At least twice each year, important exhibits are on show. The amazing exhibits allow the public to enjoy art from private collections , and temporary exhibits from famous artists such as Gauguin, Manet, Modigliani or Van Gogh are also often on display. The foundation is known in many circles - and not only in the Lake Geneva area. Since its opening, it has greeted more guests than there are residents of Switzerland!
