Glacier 3000
Glacier 3000 is the shortened form of "Glacier 3000 Region Les Diablerets - Gstaad SA".In Summer and Winter, Glacier 3000 is an extraordinary tourist attraction in the Swiss Alps.
It is the only area in the Bernese Oberland (highlands) where Winter sports fans can enjoy Winter activities in the snow. The 14km-long slope at the Ski Area Glacier 3000 is the longest in the region. As well as Alpine skiing the Glacier 3000 offers itself to winter hiking, cross-country skiing and, at the beginning of the season, to snowboarding thanks to its "Snowboarder & Freestyler Park".
In May 2007 the Alpine Coaster at Gstaad was opened to the public. Situated at an altitude of more than 3000 metres it is, quite simply, the highest toboggan run in the world. Take your place aboard the Alpine Coaster and be dazzled by the 24 summits, over 4000 metres, that you will see. Along the 1000 metres of descent, turning around curves through a total of 520 degrees, a feeling of sheer freedom will sweep over you.
The area of Glacier 3000 also offers numerous possibilities for dining. In total there are 5 bars/ restaurants which are sure to quench and satisfy even the most thirstiest and hungriest of skiers and day-trippers. Famous for its architecture, the restaurant "la Botta 3000", situated at the entrance to the cable-car, is especially renowned.
